Sports Complex in memory of Turban Tornado Fauja Singh

Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha from Punjab announced a grant of rupees 50 lakhs to setup a Sports Complex consisting of a Running Track and Playgrounds in the memory of Veteran Marathon Runner Turban Tornado Fauja Singh who passed away yesterday.

Dr. Sahney also announced that 400 Meter Athletic Track in Sports College Jalandhar will be retrofitted and named after Fauja Singh who set an example by running various global Marathon of 50 Kms even after the age of 100 years.

Dr. Sahney recalled presence of Fauja Singh in various Vaisakhi Super Sikh marathons organised by his World Punjabi Organisation. “Fauja Singh is a great inspiration for our youth and elderly to be always fit.” said Dr. Sahney.
