MP Vikram Sahney demands Centre’s Financial Assistance to Punjab in Parliament

MP Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney vehemently demanded Centre’s financial assistance under 50 year interest free loan to Punjab in the Rajya Sabha. He also highlighted the long pending dues under Rural Development Fee, Market Development Fund and National Health Mission and exhorted Centre to release same on compassionate grounds as fiscal health of state is worrisome.

Dr. Sahney also demanded the immediate release of Rs. 1837 Crores of Special Assistance to State for capital investment which has been withheld. Dr. Sahney said that the onus is on Centre to save Punjab slipping into financial turmoil.
