MP, Vikram Sahney announces Rs. 1 Crore for Drug Rehab Centres
Chandigarh, May 1, 2025: Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney, MP Rajya Sabha announced Rs. 1 Crore for upgrading all 19 Drug Rehab Centres in Punjab. His NGO, Sun Foundation, is already running Drug Rehab Centres in Amritsar, Jalandhar & Mohali.
An MOU to this effect was signed today with the Department of Health, Government of Punjab. While thanking Mr. Sahney, Dr. Balbir Singh, Hon’ble Health & Family Welfare Minister of Punjab appreciated the efforts of Mr. Sahney and his NGO, Sun Foundation for upgrading and providing skills and other activities to youth in these Drug De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centres in Punjab.
Shri. Sahney stated that various skills like Data Entry Operator, Electrician, Plumber, Mobile Repair, Organic Farming along with Yoga, Gym Fitness and Sports facilities are being provided for rehabilitation of the youth.
Today, after signing the MOU, Dr. Vikramjit Singh Sahney and Dr. Balbir Singh inaugurated the Government Drug De-Addiction and Rehabilitation Centre in Sector 66 SAS Nagar Mohali, which has been adopted by Sun Foundation, where Sun Foundation is providing various rehabilitation facilities to the patients there, including skill development courses such as electrician, mobile repair, cooking classes, data entry operator, computer course.
Along with this, yoga, badminton, volleyball, sports, gym is also being provided by Sun Foundation to the patients of the rehabilitation centre in SAS Nagar.
