With an impressive record of raising 118 questions in Parliament, well surpassing the national average of 78 questions, Dr. Sahney’s engagements reflect a deep-rooted concern for the State of Punjab. In his maiden parliamentary address, he addressed a spectrum of critical issues including inflation, poverty, and agrarian crisis, offering insightful analyses and constructive suggestions.

Dr. Sahney effectively halted the centralisation of Punjab University, Chandigarh in response to student demands. Additionally, his advocacy for including Sikh Martial Art (Gatka) in the National Games was fulfilled by the government. Furthermore, he successfully spearheaded the establishment of the Vande Bharat Train service from Delhi to Amritsar.

Demonstrating a profound commitment to preserving Punjab’s cultural heritage, Dr. Sahney leads efforts to revamp the iconic heritage street of Sri Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple), Amritsar. Through initiatives such as granting golf carts, enhancing lighting, and beautification projects, he aims to ensure the sanctity and splendour of this revered site for generations to come.
