India-Pakistan Joint Business Forum (IPJBF) called on Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif for early normalisation of trade between both the countries

Islamabad : The members of the IPJBF called on Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif with the objective of developing a roadmap for increased cooperation and mutually beneficial contacts and partnership between the two countries at the business level.

IPJBF got off to a swimming start in Islamabad with the formation of 10 task forces, infused with the positive resolution of outstanding trade-related issues between both the countries. The sectors identified are agriculture, agricultural products, automobiles, engineering, textiles, and made-ups, pharmaceuticals, chemical education and vocational training, banking infrastructure, information technology and telecommunication. The Forum, which has 15 prominent businessmen from each country, has been tasked with identifying the problems faced in cross-border trade and to come up with recommendations. The forum has mutually agreed to seek further softening of the visa regime and provide visas to the agriculture chambers of the two sides.
