India had the privilege to host the 3rd India, Brazil & South Africa (IBSA) Business Summit on the sidelines of IBSA Political Meet between the Head of State of India, Brazil and South Africa between October 13-15, 2008 at Hotel Taj Palace and Vigyan Bhawan at New Delhi.

This Business Summit was attended by High Powered Business Delegations from Brazil and South Africa besides Indian industry. The summit explored potential areas of co-operation between the three countries in the area of Agriculture & Food Processing, Energy (Power, Bio-Fuels, Oil & Gas), ICT & Enabled services, Pharma & Healthcare, Minrals & Mining, Transport & Connectivity, Tourism and Financial Services. This was an exclusive opportunity to interact and have business meetings with counterparts of three nations. Shri Kamal Nath, former Minister for Commerce and Industry, Government of India inaugurated the summit.

Vikramjit Sahney was an integral part of the summit and was invited to share his opinion on the role of this summit on economy of these countries vis-à-vis fertilizers and other areas. Giving his valuable inputs on the ways to doubling intra IBSA trade and investments by 2010, Mr. Sahney said "India, Brazil and South Africa, among the fastest growing economics in their respective regions, have emerged as the new economic powers in the southern hemisphere and we shall continue to explore potential areas of co-operation to rule the economy of the world."
