Rajiv Pratap Rudy Stressed upon Employable SKILL DEVELOPMENT at Annual Day Celebrations of Sun Foundation

February 20, 2015: Sun Foundation, an initiative of Vikramjit Singh Sahney celebrated its Annual Day as it embarked upon yet another year to serve the underprivileged section of the society.

The event at India Islamic Cultural Centre witnessed many eminent personalities including Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Hon'ble Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GOI; Parvesh Verma, MP; besides Shovana Narayan; Aruna Oswal, Zila Khan; Ruby Dhalla R.S. Chadha; Shakti Nath; Ramesh Handa etc. Each one present applauded and pledged their support to the foundation.

Speaking on the occasion Vikramjit Sahney said, " Disability is not inability. Poverty cannot be allowed to be a stumbling block in the way of skill empowerment. We should not just sympathise with them but need to recognize and support their talent and help them attain extraordinary heights. Our beneficiaries have attained an exemplary status in society by turning around their adverse conditions to their advantage with sheer determination and courage. The efforts of Sun Foundation is to empower them. This is just a drop in the ocean. There is a lot more to do and we will continue our movement with unwavering faith.”

Addressing the august gathering, Rajiv Pratap Rudy said that despite being a large democracy, we lag behind in employable skills. It is the endeavor of the Government and the society to bring India from mere 2% employable skills to race up to match the best quotient with the rest of the world. He hoped that the efforts of government and the socially committed people shall bear great results in empowering the youth with employable skills as there are tremendous opportunities waiting to be fulfilled.
